Teague ISD has initiated a 3 hour substitute teacher orientation. This is the second year they have conducted this orientation in order to get substitutes informed on district practices and expectations. They conduct classroom management training during this time and allow for situational role play and discussions to better prepare substitutes for the classroom. They discuss the employee handbook and set clear expectations with our subs. Everyone who subs in Teague ISD must attend the session. They answer questions and complete all required paperwork at this time. The subs have commented that taking the time to conduct the orientation is very helpful. They say it better informs and prepares them for the job. Thanks Teague ISD for passing on this Best Practice Innovation!
