A House Research Organization focus report titled “Schools and Taxes: A Summary of Legislation of the 2006 Special Session” was released in May 2006.
The report focuses on education-related legislation passed during the 2006 Special Session of the 79th Texas Legislature and includes the following issues of interest to school personnel officers:
- Educator pay and training
- Teacher pay raises and incentive pay
- New teacher mentor programs
- School leadership pilot programs
