TASPA President Featured in Texas School Business Magazine
TASPA President Marcia Daniels was featured in the “In The Spotlight” section of the February 2007 issue of Texas School Business Magazine.
Game on! is the running thread of the article which demonstrates Daniel’s dedication and drive to both her profession and to her skill on the tennis court. Daniels, Interim Executive Director of Human Resources at El Paso ISD, oversees all aspects of employee recruitment, retention, and compensation at the district, which has more than 9,000 employees. Starting out in the technology field, she moved to staff development and then to personnel. Because of the career transition, she became involved with TASPA, where, she says, “ ...you get your education in this business.”
Never one to sit on the sidelines, Daniels has worked her way up the organization leadership ladder. Her responsibilities at TASPA include setting and implementing strategic goals, managing board meetings, and testifying before the Texas Legislature. Two of her primary goals for the upcoming year are to expand regional training programs and to determine the feasibility of a statewide personnel certification program.
