Subject: More info/feedback/questions from the field on the process fro non certifieds

Dear Doug,

I sent a quick email and let folks know we were working on this and I got a bunch more emails with more info:

1.                               There are apparently no directions, or no EVIDENT directions on how to upload the spreadsheet-- one person got error messages 10 times before it finally took.

These have been created and sent to our contact list.  We will also be posting to the web shortly.

2.                               There is confusion as to whether or not an ISD can "set up an account" where they enter a code or some password and get billed weekly, monthly-- however you want it rather than having to pay each time "live"

We share the confusion.  We have received contradictory information throughout the process from DPS on this.  As of this moment there is no ability to set up an account with the vendor, however DPS is working with the Comptroller to create such an arrangement.  I am not sure if it will happen.

3.                               several ISDs have reported uploading their lists Jan 7 and have not yet received their "fast Pass", causing folks who could already be working to have to stay home with no pay

Hopefully they are all receiving their FAST Passes now.  We had technical difficulties on our end that created this problem.

4.                               Some folks are concerned that blue collar workers often don't even have a checking account, let alone a credit card, to pay for this process, so they are confused as to whether or not the ISD  or third parties to pay for John Doe to get IDd, and how to do that (ISD credit card, ISD PO, check, etc)...

Again a DPS issue and one we are not entirely clear on due to the several changes that have occurred.  Currently the only way to pay for the service is by check or money order.  DPS tells us their “goal” is to have the capability to accept payment by credit card available “sometime on Thursday”.  We will see.

 Best,

 alex
