The conference begins Sunday afternoon, September 26, 2010, and runs all day Monday, September 27, 2010.
Two optional pre-conference workshops are offered from 1:00-5:00 PM at no extra charge:  Certification/NCLB Workshop and Creditable Years of Service Workshop

The conference fee is $150 until September 17 and includes the Sunday night dinner as well as a continental breakfast and luncheon on Monday. The late registration fee, after September 17, is $170.

Intensive Certification Workshop description:

This four-hour workshop  will focus on assignment rules for educators from both an SBEC and NCLB standpoint, and will cover common scenarios where assignment questions often arise. Topics covered will include changes to the assignment criteria, HOUSE and the difference between points and hours, as well as other questions submitted by past attendees.

Intensive Creditable Years of Service and Salaries description:

This session will address the state laws, rules, and practices on how years of service are considered for salary increment purposes as mandated by the Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service.   Also, the following topics will be addressed during this session: 1] The new mandates under HB 3646, HB 1365, and SB 522 2] The new changes concerning teacher aide experience 3] The new requirements concerning international teaching experience 4] The Retire/Rehire Program 5]  Military experience; and 6]  Some other school district personnel issues as mandated by the Texas Education Agency, Texas Education Code and the Government Code.
