Conference Committee Responsibilities

There are two key responsibilities of the Conference Planning Committee:

  1. Assist the Executive Director and Staff with planning the three annual conferences
    (Summer, Fall and Winter), and
  2. Represent the professional development needs and interest of the TASPA membership.

Committee members shall work with the Executive Director to develop a conference program that will
showcase school human resources best practices, identify current key issues impacting human resources
departments, and identify leading keynote speakers. The committee shall meet face-to-face for the initial
meeting of the year in January, at a time as identified by the Executive Director and/or as may be
recommended by the Committee, and with approval for travel expenses by the TASPA President.
Subsequent meetings necessary to conduct their committee work may be done online by web meeting
and/or by email.


Conference Committee members will research, identify, and solicit speakers for recommended topics.
Conference Committee members shall work with the Executive Director and TASPA staff to ensure timely
and prompt feedback related to topics, presenters, keynote speakers, etc. needed for the annual


Committee members need to have strong district support for serving on this committee, as there
may be travel requirements to Austin during the planning process and for attendance at
