TASPA Awards 2017

TASPA Administrator Awards and Scholarships Presented

Every year during the TASPA/TAEE Winter Conference, TASPA honors three members with the Distinguished Service Award, Personnel Administrator of the Year Award and Honorary Membership Award.

The Personnel Admini
strator of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has been a TASPA member for at least three years and who has at least five years experience in Human Resources/personnel. The person must possess leadership ability, a high degree of personal and professional integrity, and the ability to recruit members to the organization, and he/she volunteers to support our activities. Additionally, the individual must demonstrate high involvement in the human resources TASPA community both at their TASPA regional level and state-wide and possess solid skills and understanding in matters pertaining to human resource and personnel administration. The nominees for the 2017 Dr. Mary Hopkins Personnel Administrator of the Year were Kim Alvarez, Alvin ISD, Rhonda Dillard, Frenship ISD and Paige Curry, Birdville ISD.  The award went to Paige Curry.


The Distinguished Service Award is awarded to an individual who has been at TASPA member for at least five years and who has at least ten years experience in Human Resources/personnel. This person must also demonstrate the qualities previously described for the Personnel Administrator of the Year.

The nominees for the 2017 Distinguished Service Award were Sheri Blankenship, Hereford ISD, and Lanny Frasier, Mesquite ISD.

The recipient of the 20
17 Distinguished Service Award is Sheri Blankenship.

Honorary membership i
s awarded to persons who have distinguished themselves in school personnel/human resources work. The 2017 Honorary Member is John Hancock.
