Website Updates & New Member Login
The TASPA website is undergoing some changes due to a new management system. While the look is very similar, member login procedures have changed. By now, TASPA members should have received an email with your username and default password. Follow the prompts to reset your password to one that is more secure.
This new system will offer various new features which we will highlight soon. Stay tuned...more to come!
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will be distributing a survey that each campus principal who has first-year teachers on his or her campus will be required to complete. The survey collection has been postponed until May 1, 2014. New dates are May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014. Read more on the TEA Principal Survey web page.
Professional Development Audit
Directed by House Bill 2012 (83rd Regular Session), the Professional Development Audit will inform agency action in seeking to eliminate conflicting and consolidate duplicative requirements by either taking administrative action, encouraging school districts to make appropriate changes to district policies, or by recommending statutory changes to the state legislature. The audit also will inform the agency in assessing the quality of professional development offerings accessible to the state’s educators. The TEA will begin the survey collection on May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014.
TELL Texas Survey
The first statewide "Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning (TELL) Texas Survey" will be administered. Although the original timeline of April 7-May 5, 2014 was reported, a revised timeline was recently issued. The new timeline is May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014. TELL Texas Survey, required as part of HB 2012, is to be completed by teachers, principals, counselors and other school-based professional staff. This online survey asks questions about teaching conditions that have been shown to be important to student achievement and teacher retention. Go to www.telltexas.org for more information.
